MOUNTAIN BIKING IN THE SUN |
|
Last Thursday saw the latest Torbay Schools Mountain Bike Competition take place at Haldon Woods
Teams battled it out in glorious sunshine, representing a Year 7/8 team or a Year 9/10 team.
Some thought it would be light relief from exams, but the course proved to be a very competitive route, which saw youngsters cycle hard to gain points for their team.
The eventual winners in the Year 7/8 races was Churston Ferrers Grammar School, closely followed by Torquay Community College, KEVICS and St Cuthbert Mayne.
In the Year 9/10 age group, Torquay Community College were the suprise package, beating Churston into second place with St Cuthbert Mayne in third place.
Ash McInally (SSCo for Churston) and Richard Shepherd (Torbay Cycling Coach), were assisted on the day by young leaders and other staff, making it a really good day for all involved.
