SPECIAL FOOTBALL FESTIVAL IN NATIONAL SCHOOL SPORT WEEK |
|
Excited students from Combe Pafford Special School recently took part in a Fun Football Festival organised by Westlands School Sport Co-ordinator, Marcus Thompson.
The festival was part of a series of events taking place at Combe Pafford to celebrate National School Sports Week.
The students from Years 5, 6, 7 and 8 were treated to skills sessions run by Torquay United Community coaches Mark Titchard and Matthew Scholes. The sessions saw the students developing a range of skills including shooting, passing and dribbling and finished with some small sided games which the children really loved.
Matthew Davey, Head of Physical Education at Combe Pafford, commented “The children have really enjoyed the coaching sessions and have shown some fantastic skills. It’s a shame one or two weren’t in the England squad! The Torquay United Community coaches definitely got the best out of the students who had smiles on their faces throughout the sessions”.
Thanks must also go to the Combe Pafford teaching assistants who helped to ensure the children had a memorable experience.
