To celebrate the epic journey of the London 2012 Olympic Torch Relay, Torbay Sport Partnership are joining in the celebrations as it comes through Torquay on Sunday 20^th May.

The Young Ambassadors will be at part of the Local Authority celebration event and as the Olympic torch passes by our very own Torbay Flame will ignite and will commence it’s epic journey around all 45 Schools in the Bay.

The Torbay Schools Olympic Torch Relay will commence on the 21^st May and visit 45 schools, some of Torbay Sport Partnerships Sporting events such as the Herald Express School Games on Friday 22^nd June. The relay will finish its trip around the Bay on Thursday 5^th July and will go with the Torbay teams to the Devon Summer School Games at St Luke’s College, Exeter on Friday 6^th July 2012.

Torbay Young Ambassadors are key drivers in developing ideas and supporting activities to help get pupils inspired and excited about the Torbay Schools Olympic Torch Relay when the torch is in their school and their partner primary schools.

Every primary school will have the torch for half a day and secondary schools will have it for a day, the schools will then transport the torch to the next school by any means of travel.
